20Q
Ever felt inferior to a $10 handheld electronics game?
Then you’ve probably played 20Q. Invented in 1988 as an
artificial intelligence experiment, 20Q began as a website
on which the visitor thought of something and 20Q tried to
guess it in 20 questions or less. The handheld version
wins less frequently because it can only store a fraction
of the website version’s 10,000,000 synaptic connections.
The online version can also learn from its mistakes and
therefore wins about 75% of the time.
