Buzz Lightyear
In 1995 Pixar released the first full-feature cinematic
picture entirely produced with CGI. The natural progress
of the toy heroes, Woody and Buzz, would be for them to
get a live-action release of their own...which they did
in toy stores the world over. Thinkway Toys, who designed
the toy, didn't feel the movie would generate that much
demand for Buzz Lightyear, but demand soon surpassed
supply and made Buzz that year’s "must have" Christmas
toy. Sorry Elmo - you’ve been replaced.
